Forza Motorsport players criticized developers for using a car model of 14 years ago
Throughout the Forza Motorsport marketing campaign, it was described as “created from scratch”, but some players are skeptical, finding a re -used car model that first appeared in Forza Motorsport 3.
Many long -standing racing games re -use models from past parts to save time when developing content. This is a standard practice, and it can be seen in many franchises. However, Forza has earned a reputation of the game that uses car models for too long. Fans of the Microsoft racing franchise noticed this in past games, but, given the promises that Forza Motorsport 2023 will be “created from scratch”, there was a hope that the situation will change.
Now that early access is open, and the players get acquainted with Forza Motorsport, it becomes clear that those who are eager to hand over old models in util. Many players accused Turn 10 of re-using the Nissan Silvia Spec-R model of 14 years ago.
One indictment on Reddit said:
“FM 23 still uses the game models for the original Xbox (2005). We ask for updated models for almost 10 years. I don’t know why Turn 10 so persistently avoids this, but, my God, how unpleasant it is to see it. Especially if it is one of your favorite cars. Hot Wheels has a better proportion “.
Contrary to statements, this Nissan Silvia is not from the original Forza Motorsport, but rather from Forza Motorsport 3. This is known, since she has a completely modeled interior that was not implemented until the camera in the cabin was added in 2009.
Despite this, the use of a car model of 13 years ago is still condemned:
“This is the madness that people will go to to protect Turn 10. No one says that you should not reuse the models, but there comes a time when the model simply does not meet modern standards, and it really needs to be redone. I don’t know why Turn 10 so persistently avoids this, but, my God, how unpleasant it is to see it, ”answered another disappointed player.
This is not the only re -used car model. Some other well -known examples include Mitsubishi Evolution VI GSR and Volkswagen Golf R32. Although some other past copies, such as Subaru 22B STI, were processed for Forza Motorsport.
Most of the criticism proceeds from the fact that the developers position Forza Motorsport as “created from scratch”. Many fans interpreted it as meant that everything will be new and the next generation, but this, obviously, is not so.
